Hong Kong has been my home since 1994, and for more than 25 years I have lived on Cheung Chau — a small former fishing island of around 25,000 people, just 35 to 55 minutes from Central by ferry (you sail right past it on the way to Macau). No private cars here — just narrow lanes, plenty of legal and not-so-legal bicycles, beautiful white beaches with clear water, and dozens of seafood restaurants and tiny eateries waiting to be discovered. What began informally — showing visiting friends the city I love, from harbour crossings and neighbourhood backstreets to food stops, viewpoints and everyday local life — gradually turned into private guiding. I still approach it in that same spirit: personal, warm, practical and shaped around the kind of day you actually want.
On me, on every tour: bottled water, plus all MTR, Ding Ding tram and Star Ferry rides during our day together — so you never fish for coins while sightseeing. On the Island Hopping day, all ferry tickets are included too. (Peak Tram, Airport Express and taxis are not included — but I will always tell you honestly when a taxi is the smarter option for a stretch.)
